The 2015 Singular is a blend of Avesso (20%), Arinto (10%), Malvasia Fina (10%) and Alvarinho (10%), with the rest being a field blend. It is unoaked and dry, coming in at 13.5% alcohol. The grape blend is intended to change every year as "winemaker's selection." Probably my favorite of the winery's submissions this issue (by a small margin), this doesn't have the plump fruitiness of the Avesso or even the Arinto (also reviewed), but it is better focused, crisp and very fresh. The nice tension is matched by the fine mid-palate and its tasty fruit. This is a fine summer choice, but it should hold nicely for a few years, too, and hold up to food. This runs around 8.2 Euros in Portugal, a fine value.
